On our way to Akamas Peninsula, we will visit the Birthplace of Aphrodite –(Aphrodite’s Rock) the ancient legend tells that the Greek Goddess of Love came from these waters. Great landscape view for photos.
Visit Avakas Gorge – a natural wonder with limestone walls up to 30 meters tall. It is possible to explore deeper inside the gorge, for a breath-taking view.
Next stop we shall drive off-road to the famous Lara Bay, known as the breeding ground of the Green Turtles of the Mediterranean, a protected area by the Cyprus Government, was one of the first in the Mediterranean, to protect the turtle population and beaches where they nest.
Visit the Baths of Aphrodite – a natural grotto, is filled with spring water and located at the east of the peninsula. Time for lunch at a nearby Cypriot family restaurant with a spectacular sea view. (lunch is payable locally)
