Tour to Paphos and Kourion from Limassol

Steeped in history and associated with knights of the order of St. John as well as the knights Templar “Kolossi Castle” would be the first stop. Have a feel of the Medieval History and explore this fascinating 3 story castle.
The Ancient kingdom – city of “Kourion and Archaeological site” would be the next visit. It is a magnificent famous “Greco-Roman” theatre built during 2nd Century BC. Nearby is the “house of Eustolios”. They are the remains of an original private villa.
Visit the nearby “Sanctuary and Temple of Apollon Hylates”, a spectacular location overlooking the sea. He was the protector of Kourion and God of the Woodland. It is believed he was worshipped at the sitre from 8th century BC and sanctuary was an important religious center. Take exceptional photos from this point.
Following stop would be the beautiful coastline were the Goddess of Beauty and Love was born from the foam of sea. Area is called Petra tou Romiou or “Aphrodite’s birthplace – rock”. Enjoy your coffee break.
Headed west to “Paphos – the ancient capital of Cyprus” will visit the “archeological park of Lower Paphos and the “Mosaics”. The area is UNESCO World Heritage List. Back in 1962 a farmer ploughing his field accidentally unearthed one of the “Pafos Mosaics”. Nearby is also the villa of a Roman nobleman, the “house of dionysos” with amazing floor mosaic scenes from “Greek Mythology”. Free time. Enjoy a walk along the energetic promenade with beautiful views, the “Pafos Harbour and Port”. visit the local souvenir shops and enjoy lunch at one of the many attractive cafes and restaurants.
Returning back to Limassol will have a visit of “Yeroskipou Village” tasting the famous Loukoumia – delights.
